April Board Meeting 4/23 via Zoom

Please note, due to restrictions on public meetings due to COVID-19 – and the poor weather predicted for the evening, the Fallsburg Library Board of Trustees’ meeting scheduled for April 23, 2020 at 5:15pm will be held online via Zoom beginning at 5pm. For the link and password to join the meeting, please email fbr@rcls.org prior to 4:45pm on 4/23/2020.

Closing Update – April 8, 2020

We hope this message finds you well during these trying times.
We just wanted to provide you all with a brief update on the
Fallsburg Library during this pandemic.
The Library is still CLOSED until further notice. Governor Cuomo’s latest executive order has us closed until at least April 29th. As such, we have extended due dates for all materials currently checked out until June 1, 2020. You will NOT be charged overdue fines on materials you currently have out and you do NOT need to worry about returning them until June 1.
Please note, EVERY library in RCLS is currently CLOSED and there are NO inter-library deliveries occurring at this time. The ‘hold’ placing feature has been disabled on our online catalog as a result.
You can access our wonderful collection of e-books, e-magazines, e-audiobooks, and some e-videos through OverDrive. You just need your library card number and pin number (usually the last 4 digits of the phone number you provided to us). If you are unsure of what your library card/pin number is you can email us at fbr@rcls.org or call 845-436-6067. We are checking emails and phone messages daily, and will get the information to you ASAP.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
We can’t wait to see you all again!

Library Closed Until Further Notice – No staff in building

As an extra precaution to help slow the spread of COVID-19, Governor Cuomo has ordered 100% of non-essential workers to stay home. Although we know the Library is a vital part of any community – we are not included in the list of “essential workers.” As such, the Library will remain closed until further notice, and staff will no longer be present in the building as of 2pm today, Friday March 20.

Please note, all due dates on any Library material currently checked out has been extended to April 6th. All overdue fines will be waived through April, at least. Please hang on to your Library materials until we are able to open again. They will not be overdue – you will not be charged overdue fines on those.

This is a truly unprecedented time. We are deeply saddened that we must close our doors completely to you all. Staff will still be checking the fbr@rcls.org email periodically – and we will check phone messages daily. However, we will only be able to have the same access to the Library catalog as you. We will NOT be able to place holds on any library materials whatsoever.

With your Library card – you will have access to our e-collection through OverDrive. If you need help navigating OverDrive or the Libby app – you can send us an email and we will do our best to assist you.

We understand how disappointing and scary this all is. We will keep you updated on our status through this whole process. Please follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) as we will be sharing information that may be helpful, and we’ll try to keep you entertained as well.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We look forward to the day when we can open our doors again. In the meantime – be well and take care of each other.

Library Closed to the Public Until Further Notice

Due to safety concerns surrounding COVID-19, and in an attempt to help slow the spread of it, the Library will be closed to the public until further notice. There will be staff available to answer phone calls and emails Monday – Friday 10am-2pm.

Due dates for materials currently checked out have been extended to April 6th and overdue fines will be waived through April – so hang on to your items until then.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Library Closed to Public Sunday 3/15 and Monday 3/16

The Fallsburg Library will be closed to the public Sunday March 15 and Monday March 16. We will be re-evaluating the situation with COVID-19 and working on ways to continue to serve our community – while also taking steps to help slow down the spread of coronavirus. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.
